New gravure methodology

12 July 2011

In Spain, gravure cylinder engraving company Ziraba has signed an exclusive agreement with TrueTone, a colour specialist whose Heptacromía system offers a new alternative for gravure printing.

According to TrueTone, this patented technique works ‘not only with the usual colour compositions, but from white to black in Heptacromía - the merger of seven colours and not the overlay that is now within seven colours’. The technique’s ‘protected formulation’ is said to allow for additional combinations to existing systems, enabling users not only to print the same colour on their premises, but anywhere in the world.

Ziraba will offer gravure cylinder engraving in this technology exclusively for Spain, and the system is complemented by standard inks from Chimigraf Ibérica.
