Mark Andy has launched the latest addition to its line of Comco equipment, the C1 ProGlide. The mid-web press is able to accommodate material from 0.5 mil film to 600 g/m² board and is completely modular. It can be configured for a wide variety of applications including high-end labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons.
The new Comco’s interchangeable screen and hotfoil cassettes give the converter the flexibility of value added graphics at any station in the press and proven gravure process integration is said to provide an economic method for applying heavy coating weights and metallic inks. Additional flexibility is provided by independently controlled pacing profile at each print station, allowing the converter the opportunity to match the exact specifications for the required application.
The drying and curing systems are claimed to support production speeds of up to 230 m/min and are available in widths up to 660 mm. The Comco’s advanced closed loop auto registration and tension systems ensure tight process control at high speeds, says the company.
