New combination press from Gidue

9 February 2012

Italy’s Nuova Gidue will unveil a new combination press for labels and packaging during an International Open House at its premises in Florence from 14-16 February. The M7 Xpannd line offers full platform configuration flexibility, for the smooth interchangeability of printing and converting processes. Each offset, flexo, and screen unit can be removed and replaced on any platform in minutes, as can the new format mini-cassettes.

Integrated in a ’lean‘ working cell to allow for easy and effective changeovers, the press has also been designed to fit into limited space (seven platforms and three dies in less than 8m) and to convert a wide range of products, including flexible packaging, labels, cartons.

"We wanted a compact, ultra-flexible labels and packaging press,” says Sauro Salvadori, M7 project manager. “Floor spaces are limited and markets change rapidly, while the M7 can grow and adapt to multiple substrates or processes. We ended up with a top quality printing press, with the ‘look’ of an easy and accessible tool."

The open house will also demonstrate a new version of the M5 digital flexo press, producing less than 20m of waste with automated digital setup of pressure and register without operator intervention.
