Narrow web sleeves

24 April 2008

A range of “ultra resistant”, durable hard coated and cushion mounting sleeves for narrow web applications has been introduced by AKL Flexo Technik. They are made with aramid fibre said to offer high memory properties that ensure constant clamping force and eliminate the problem of slippage during printing.

A tough vinyl ester outer skin is said to enable the new sleeves to maintain their stability and assure total indicator reading of within 20 micron, even under extreme humidity and high temperatures on the press. This provides a firm basis for consistently high, repeatable print register results, over a long lifespan, says AKL. The sleeves are also said to deliver improved quality, by assuring consistent compression over the full print width.

Available in all standard lengths used in the narrow web market, the sleeves are said to be compatible with most new generation flexo printing systems.
