Multilayer label makes more space

8 August 2005

Sessions of York has created the Multi-layer Plus label - a combination of tri-layer film, adhesive and easy peel coating that provides six printed pages for on-pack information and promotions. According to Sessions, "all layers remain together during and after application to the product while excellent flexibility and 'forming' qualities are retained". A simple 'lift here' tab provides easy access to all pages, and it is possible to print on the sixth page with the text viewed through a transparent filmic substrate.

The label "can be used in practically any application" and is said to be especially useful for small cosmetics products which benefit from carrying ingredient listings and corporate information on subordinate layers, leaving adequate room to locate bar and batch codes, and seventh amendment wording on the first page.

Also likely to benefit are the pharmaceutical, healthcare and agrochemical industries, which can use Multi-layer Plus labels to incorporate multi-lingual copy on subsequent pages whilst retaining the legal copy, risk and safety wording and warning symbology on the top layer.

Sessions of York offers the labels in sheets for hand application or on the reel for semi or fully automatic placement onto a wide range of products. The labels are available printed in 20 different colours, including line and process work.
