More Mark Andys for Norprint

7 February 2005

To boost productivity at its Boston, UK, production facility, Norprint Labelling Systems has invested more than £1M in two new eight colour Mark Andy LP3000 presses. They have 17in web widths and are fitted with corona treaters, web reverse, delam-relam, and UV lamination equipment. The company already has nine Mark Andy presses at Boston.

Norprint supplies 6.7 billion labels, tags, tickets and labelling systems to over 3,000 companies in the retail, food, automotive and industrial sectors throughout Europe, mainly using paper based substrates. But with a view to developing new markets with filmic materials, the company is discussing with Mark Andy the fitment of rotary screen technology to the new presses.

Another area under development is RFID, which fits well with the its experience in security work. Already involved in the production of anti counterfeiting tags and labels for the motor trade, amongst other industries, Norprint has now set up a line to produce RFID tags.
