Montalvo working against web breaks

13 November 2006

Montalvo’s latest control modules - the X-3400ce tension controller, the D-3400ce dancer controller and DTI-3400ce dancer controller with tension indication - are equipped with a variety of communicative, diagnostic and performance enhancing features. A facility common to each of the controllers is web break detection.

As part of a web control package, says Montalvo, the highly responsive modules can help minimize the risk of web breaks and process inconsistencies occurring in the first place, by smoothing and equalizing transients in the moving web. Modules such as the X-3400ce offer taper tension capability, and all can be supplied with a transferable memory card and the latest communicative protocol technology, such as DeviceNet, Profibus, CANopen and RWD (remote wireless diagnostics).
