Mondi Swiecie going strong

16 February 2011

One year after starting up the state-of-the-art production site in Swiecie, Poland, Mondi Corrugated has already exceeded the planned efficiency level.

“Since January 2010 the entire Swiecie’s production of corrugated packaging has been transferred to the new site, which features exceptional environmental benefits”, explains Thomas Ott, CEO Mondi Corrugated Packaging. “Thanks to the reduced consumption of electricity and water during paper production itself we save up to 30% of these resources.

“At present, we are undergoing certification according to ISO 9001 and OHAS (Occupational Health and Safety) Assessment Series 18001 standard”, he concludes.

The plant itself, which has a capacity of more than 200 million/m2, is one element of an integrated value chain production site that also houses a recycled fibre plant, a fast and ecological lightweight recycled paper machine and a paper warehouse.
