Mondi making breathable membranes

18 November 2010

To meet market demand for customised breathable membranes Mondi Belcoat has installed a modular air dryer that enables the plant in Belgium to extrusion coat hydrophilic polymers on non-wovens.

“The new polydryer supports a continuous production process of moisture sensitive polymers, ranging from master batches to breathable monolithic polymers and polyester”, says Jurgen Van der Donck, Managing Director Mondi Belcoat. “This upgrade significantly increases the speed of our process, resulting in higher capacity and improved efficiency, while at the same time creating economies of scale for individual customer applications.”
