Austria’s Mayr-Melnhof Packaging has entered the Latin American market by acquiring a 70% share in Marinetti, a carton converter in Santiago de Chile. The former family shareholders hold the remaining shares.
The Chilean company produces folding cartons for multinational and local producers of branded goods. It currently employs 650 people and generates annual sales of approximately €45 million.
Completion of the transaction is subject to specific conditions.
