ICE Innovation Award winner Mink-Bürsten has added a new sectional brush spreader roll to its range.
Unlike the original rolls, the product launched at IPEX comprises 100mm sections which have arrays of polyamide bristles all around the roll, rather than in set rows along the complete width. Said sales director Andreas Lindauer: “ This allows the roll to be of various widths and for the angles of bristles to be different on the edge sections and those in the middle for example. Bristles can be angled at say five degrees in the centre and 15 degrees on the outer edges.” Depending on the substrate passing through the spreader they can be tailored for efficiency and for multi-slitting applications.
“You can also change the number and diameter size of bristles in each group from 0.30mm (suitable for thick films and rubber) down to 0.07mm for very thin materials that require careful handling such as aluminium foils.”
The new spreader has only been available for a few weeks and “trials are looking good” he added.
