Metso machine to Mexico

15 February 2008

Fabrica De Papel San Francisco, in Mexicali, Mexico, has ordered a complete tissue machine from Metso Paper. The line will start up in the second quarter of 2009.

Metso will supply a complete, 2.6m wide Advantage DCT 100TS tissue machine with a design speed of 2,200m/min. The new line will use 100 per cent recycled fibre as raw material and will add another 30,000t/year of bathroom tissue, napkin and towel to the company's existing production.

Fabrica De Papel San Francisco now operates three tissue production lines and converting facilities, delivering tissue products for the Mexican market.

Mexican tissue producers mainly serve the domestic market. Total production amounted to approximately 800,000t in 2007. During the previous four years the annual rate of production growth was approximately four per cent.
