Olma Messen, of Switzerland, and Messe Düsseldorf are to collaborate to promote the NanoEurope Fair and Conference. The previous event had 105 exhibitors and 3,570 international visitors from 30 countries.
Since nanotechnology deals with the research and construction of microscopic structures – one nanometre equals one millionth of a millimetre – applications range from the automotive industry, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medicine, optics, electronics and biotechnology to foods, energy, construction and recreation. Forecasts indicate that global market volumes for nanotechnology will be worth up to US$2,000 billion in 2015.
In 2007, industry-specific “NanoEurope Innovation Parks” will be presented at Düsseldorf based technology fairs GIFA, Metec, Thermprocess, Newcast, Wire & Tube, interpack and glasstec.
The next NanoEurope Fair & Conference will take place in St Gallen, Switzerland, on September 12-14, 2006. From 2009, the fair will alternate venues between Düsseldorf on odd years and St. Gallen.
