Meech International and Edale, the narrow web flexo press specialist, have integrated the Meech SCT 1000 web cleaner into the framework of an Edale press.
The addition provides a machine that could deliver defect-free printing, without compromising the design or printing function, the companies say.
Dust and debris is attracted to the web surface by electrostatic charges that can lead to poor print quality and high rejection rates in the laminating process. The Meech static eliminator system has no expensive consumables or moving parts within the cleaning head.
A spokesperson says the system can also be retro-fitted on Edale presses.
