Mayr-Melnhof Karton has reached an agreement on selling the Vienna based recovered paper company Johann Spiehs to the Austrian waste management group AVE, Hörsching. Meanwhile, continuing its expansion in North Africa and Middle East, the company has acquired a 53 per cent shareholding in the Jordan folding carton producer Al-Ekbal Printing & Packaging. The Amman based company converts more than 4,000 tons of carton board per annum in offset printing.
