Graphic Packaging International, of Marietta, Georgia, won The Association of Industrial Metallisers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) Metallised Product of the Year Award for a susceptor equipped bag for McCain Popcorn Potatoes.
Graphic Packaging converts a heat sealable, 48 gauge PET/ink/pattern adhesive/25 lb paper/adhesive/pattern susceptor/heat sealable, 48 gauge PET laminate to create the first cook-in package of its kind with eight-colour printing and a lap seal. The pack’s structure features a patterned QuiltWave lamination as well as a metallised susceptor grid tuned to the potato product to ensure it heats and browns perfectly in the microwave without scorching the packaging material.
