Maximum control of colours and effects

22 July 2008

Ciba presented two new systems for the handling and management of colours and effects in Düsseldorf. At its stand, Ciba demonstrated MyColorViz Creative, an effect visualisation and design software for Adobe Photoshop, which shows printed surfaces in 3D and under true lighting conditions. Another highlight, the latest version of the www.matchmycolor.com website for colour formulation and colour supplier contacts, was shown on the Flint Group stand.

MyColorViz Creative effect visualisation and design software is said to show the final appearance of metallic prints accurately. It allows graphic designers to create various silver effects based on real print process parameters, allowing for regional differences in inks and printing standards. It also performs five-colour separation, enabling the design to be transferred directly to the printing production process without interfering with the standard user workflow. MyColorViz Creative uses MetalFX patented metallic printing technology.

New additions to www.matchmycolor.com include supply of real-time, formulated colour samples matched by the site’s online colour matching system; a revamp of the online colour feasibility process to make it more intuitive to use and to allow multiple calculations to be performed simultaneously; and new partner Flint Group.
