Maximizing sales staff performance

15 July 2003

Ovenden Papers is said to have streamlined its new employee induction and training programme dramatically by using the Cortec ipm MIS system for paper merchants.

Nick Blackham-Hayward, commercial director at Ovenden, comments, "It has enabled us to streamline our operations, ensuring that every member of staff is able to do their job to the best of their ability. When someone new joins the organization it is important to get him or her up to speed as quickly as possible, Cortec enables us to do this."

Cortec IPM runs on standard, networked Windows PCs. It stores products in families, allowing users to search without needing to know the product code. This is said to enable sales staff to give a quick answer to customers and close the deal there and then.

The Cortec van routing system enables the transport manager to see the orders as they are processed, and allocate vehicles accordingly. It also enables the management team to see at a glance the level of business being generated. In the past, the company would not have known volumes of orders until the following day.
