Matching the machine to the material

10 December 2008

A major international manufacturer of adhesive films and tapes recently opted to buy a Cevenini E420/NM5 log slitter. This is a new model that, the Italian machine builder says, can be tailored to every requirement a client requires, depending on the materials being slit.

With a maximum slitting width of 1,650 mm and capable of handling logs with an outside diameter of 420 mm, the E420/NM5 is claimed to have proven a real ‘winner’ with converters and manufacturers of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes.

Features include PLC control, a touchscreen interface, high speed indexing using brushless technology, and laser positioning.

The machine also offers auto blade sharpening (for both sides), multi-speed blade penetration, auto pivoting blade angle, a modem link, multi-width multi-programme, an auto chuck gripping system and an option to slit logs on 1 or 3 in cores. An option for modem link to CMC for software update and fault finding research is available.
