In the UK, Colloids has purchased the business and assets of Impact Colours from the administrators.
Impact is a small lot colour masterbatch company based in Rushden. It will give Colloids the ability to provide a local service in the UK to the small lot masterbatch market. The company will continue manufacturing at Rushden with the existing team.
Impact also has a range of universal masterbatches under the brand name Maxim. These are in line with the universal range offered by Color Services, a German sister company of Colloids in the Tosaf group.
Tosaf - a joint venture between Megides and Ravago - aims to become one of the leading global masterbatch groups. It employs about 500 people and its expected turnover in 2009 is € 210 million.
