marks-3zet automates plate production for Danish media house Jysk Fynske Medier

Excellent availability and automation were the reasons for investing in a new workflow solution at Jysk Fynske Medier, based in Odense, Denmark.

It has been one year since the workflow solution wNewsNet from wobe-team was introduced for CtP plate production controlling at the Danish media company Jysk Fynske Medier P/S. The company wanted to ensure highly automated printing plate production that could also adapt quickly to changes. For Jysk Fynske Medier, it was important to have an experienced, competent partner for projects at the prepress stage. The prepress project management team from marks-3zet GmbH & Co. KG (Mülheim a. d. Ruhr, Germany) was responsible for project management and workflow implementation.

More powerful, integrated PDF and TIFF workflow in one system
wNewsNet is an integrated workflow solution for the management of digital prepress production data that was specifically designed for industrial newspaper production. It offers the full scope of functions at this stage, from the receipt of PDF and TIFF files to quality checks.

wNewsNet makes it possible to receive planning data from the EAE print system and evaluate status information from all connected devices and systems. Continuous monitoring of the entire line of RIP devices up to plate sorting gives press operators a clear overview at all times, thus freeing up resources in daily production. A softproof at the control console ensures a colour-compliant proof for the printer without the need for time-consuming hardproof handling.

Seamless integration in regular production
Thanks to pre-defined, standardised interfaces, the workflow system could be integrated in the existing infrastructure quickly and smoothly. Parallel operation of the previous system with wNewsNet was kept to a minimum and the go-live target was achieved on time. Because all processes are digitized, wNewsNet delivers top availability
