Litho-lam capacity lifted

5 March 2010

In the UK, corrugated packaging producer Weedon PSC has installed a new litho-laminating production line at its Hednesford site. The Lunex equipment will be working in conjunction with another recent investment, Bobst die-cutting and gluing machines to give a huge increase in capacity for on-shelf and POS display products.

The Lunex litho-lam line is housed in a purpose-outfitted unit. Weedon says that as well as increasing capacity, it will allow the company to produce new products and will secure jobs.

“We have seen strong growth in demand for litho-laminated corrugated including micro-fluted materials over the past 12 months”, says John Weedon, managing director. Within this growth there has been a noticeable increase in orders for retail ready packaging.
