Artisan is a new lightweight cartonboard from Korsnäs, offering quality luxurious packaging and environmental savings.
Made from 100% virgin fibre, Artisan is a multi-layered cartonboard with a light-coated top surface and an uncoated reverse side. Its composition of long resilient fibres is said to provide a robust packaging material, while the “super-smooth and silky” exterior offers excellent printing properties.
According to Korsnäs, the board’s quality and durability make it an ideal packaging material for luxury products such as cosmetics, perfume and exclusive confectionery and celebration foods. It meets the strictest hygiene requirements and is approved for direct contact with food.
Marks & Spencer is the first retailer to use Artisan, for packaging its Carrot &Walnut and Lemon Drizzle cakes.
The new lightweight cartonboard also offers environmental benefits in keeping with Marks & Spencer’s ethical and environmental programme, Plan A – by saving approximately 20g/m² on the overall weight of the board compared with the material previously used.
