'Largest' BOPP investment on stream

29 July 2005

What is believed to be the BOPP film industry's single largest investment worldwide has now been finalized in China. Just 26 months after the Shuangliang Group based in Jiangyin, near Shanghai, initiated the project, the last of four new Brückner stretching lines has successfully started production. In total, three 8.2m lines and one 6.6m line have been installed and commissioned since April 2003 and are now producing various A grade BOPP films.

This investment is said to make Shuangliang one of Asia's largest BOPP film producers. Its product range includes plain film for lamination and printing, co-extruded or metallizable film, and pearlized, matt and low heat sealable grades.

The stretching technology installed by Brückner is said to be a very efficient, low energy design that ensures stable line speeds up to 450m/min.
