A new white paper from Landa - Accelerating the Growth of Packaging Production in the 21st Century - provides an in-depth profile of the folding carton segment, the target market of the company's first Nanographic Printing presses.
Landa plans to start shipping beta units of the S10FC press for folding carton applications in Q4/2014. The company claims the S10FC "delivers true mainstream production efficiency for folding carton production and supports B1 format media and off-the-shelf substrates without any pretreatment or priming".
The white paper, combining Landa's direct, primary research with reports from Smithers-Pira and Karstedt Partners, shows that year over year growth is anticipated to be 4.5% through 2016. It states: "the 3,000 plus converters in the world stand to benefit from the increased demand if they can meet the market's standards for quality, speed, format, and substrates while complying with demands for much shorter runs".
