Labelexpo success points up industry optimism

9 October 2013

Last month's Labelexpo Europe 2013 show was the largest in the long running event's history, attracting 31,795 visitors (up 11% on 2011) from 158 countries (up from 123 in 2011) and just under 600 exhibitors (550 in 2011). The 31,000m² floor size in the Brussels venue was also the largest in the show's 33-year history.

More than 150 new products were launched at the show, including Epson's Sure PrecisionCore technology and Surepress L-6304 UV ink label press, Mark Andy's Performance Series P3 and P5 narrow web flexo presses, Ritrama's Core Linerless Solutions system, and the DSI UV inkjet label printer from Stork Prints.

By the end of the show, 86% of the space had already been rebooked for the 2015 edition - the highest ever onsite rebook rate, according to the event organiser.

Lisa Milburn, managing director of Labelexpo Global Series remarks: "With the Eurozone now out of recession, confidence and optimism is beginning to return to wider global industry and converters are starting to invest in their businesses again. Seeing our manufacturers and suppliers making sales here confirms that Labelexpo Europe is the best-selling platform in the label and package printing industry with printers prepared to spend high on capital equipment."
