Label production lifted by Cohesio

27 July 2004

German label printer X-Label has purchased an ETI Cohesio converting machine equipped for production of all types of pressure sensitive substrate. The company cites two main reasons for the acquisition. First, it is seen an improvement in the printing process with no need for costly lamination, and the possibility of printing under the adhesive. Second is the savings realized on the raw material costs. These will be "tremendous" thanks to the new machine, it is claimed.

The new machine will be used to print all of X-Label's finished label products. The current printing capacity will be switched to preprinting the facestock (non self adhesive) at high speed, after which the Cohesio will apply the silicone and the adhesive, then laminate and die cut the rolls into finished labels.
