Kongsberg platform offers greater width

29 October 2013

Esko's new Kongsberg C digital finishing system, has a 3.2m width. A completely re-engineered platform following the highly successful Kongsberg X-series, it was designed for 24/7 production and semi-industrial environments, offering substantial flexibility and a wider format to fit modern 3.2m format printers working with wide rolls and wide sheets.

While the C64 model works with 3.210mm by 3.200mm) materials, there is also a C60 variant, accommodating 3.210mm x 1.600mm sizes. An extremely rigid, carbon composite traverse beam is said to assure excellent precision and support high speed, fast acceleration, high quality creasing as well as powerful 3kW milling capabilities.

Unlike other super-wide finishers, Esko says the Kongsberg C does not decelerate with demanding materials, "handling the most complex jobs without sacrificing quality or throughput".

Exceptional versatility is also promised for all sign, display and packaging applications. New tool covers offer clean, fast changing of the full range of Kongsberg XP tooling. Users will no longer have to invest in different digital finishing devices for different applications.
