The new site has been designed to be easy to use and straight to the point. Simple navigation allows jobs seekers to search by market sector or geographic location with a handy map graphic for quick reference. Information for candidates and clients is clearly set out and a totally new feature; the only one of its kind in this industry, is the Essential resources section includes: a route planner; traffic news; a hotel finder; a company car tax calculator; and a car versus cash comparator.
The site also provides job description templates to help companies prepare and indicate what candidates need to aspire to; and recommended reading (featuring appropriate books on management self improvement and interview skills such as how to pass verbal and numerical reasoning tests) the page links direct through to an on-line bookstore so the books can be purchased directly.
In the last 12 months, Mercury has also created specialist websites in partnership with the British Printing Industry Federation (Jobsinprint.com) and the Institute of Packaging packagingfutures.com).
