Jazzing up the ready

15 May 2008

Biodegradable film manufacturer Plastiroll, of Ylöjärvi, Finland, has developed a range of food packaging concepts that are said to combine functionality, novelty and strong environmental credentials, resulting in cost advantages.

One of the most advanced ranges is called Jazz, developed specifically for food applications, including sweet bakery products, sandwiches, confectionery, ready meals and deep freeze items. Jazz is available in myriad versions with various barrier values.

Jazz is a monomaterial, produced using dispersion technology and adhesive lamination. It is, therefore, said to be more easily recycled than composite barrier materials, resulting in savings in waste and recycling charges.
