The use of metal doped lamps in UV curing is increasing, says IST Metz, which has installed more than 1,000 systems using this technology in the last five years. Its DCP is designed to cure inks that are difficult to process, particularly opaque white. The two key elements of the system are specially doped metal halogen lamps and cold mirror UV reflectors, both customized to each application. DCP technology can easily be retrofitted into existing UV systems, it is claimed.
