ISO Poly Films, of Gray Court, South Carolina, has ordered a seven-layer Varex barrier film line from Windmöller & Hölscher. It will be installed in September, becoming the US company’s fourth W&H extrusion line and the first of six planned high barrier lines.
The new line is equipped with W&H’s Filmatic Tx dual turret winder - the first sold in North America. The Filmatic Tx is capable of a roll diameter up to 47in, features adhesive-free web transfer on change-over and offers centre, gap and reverse winding capabilities. The version sold to ISO has a roll diameter of 40in and will be installed in a face-to-face configuration.
Last year, Poly Films began a $25M expansion to more than double the size of its Gray Court facility and increase capacity for superior quality film production. This will allow the company to continue its growth in high end multi layer film for the medical and food products industries.
