IR reducess moisture in laminating

1 April 2005

Sweden's, Arctic Paper Munkedals has purchased a Solaronics IRT-MiniFlex infra red system for pre-drying paper prior to the glue lamination process involved in the manufacture of art paper products. The laminating machine on which the system has been installed has a web width of 1,895 mm and the weight of paper processed is from 60-200g/m2. Normal operating speed is 120 m/min.

The MiniFlex system consists of a number of compact modules customized according to the web width. The Arctic Paper machine is fitted with eight modules, each separately controlled, saving both energy and allowing precise drying levels across the full paper width.

Rapid on/off, accurate projection of IR power to the product and high drying capacity are among the features claimed by Solaronics.
