The Walki Group is to invest €5M in a new printing line for its Pietarsaari plant, and to increase the production capacity and broaden the product offering its Valkeakoski plant. The work is due to be completed by the first quarter of 2009.
Main purpose of the new line in Pietarsaari is to improve both the quality and efficiency of ream wrap printing for the paper industry. In Valkeakoski, an existing extrusion coating and laminating line will be rebuilt to produce multilayer composite materials, of more than 10 functional layers. These are used in making diffusion tight insulation materials for building and construction purposes. The rebuilt production line will contain several co-extrusion and lamination units and an on-line printing station.
