Invercote now certified compostable

17 November 2009

Some of the Invercote product family from Iggesund is now certified compostable according to the European standard EN 13432 that requires documented biodegradability in both industrial and household composting.

Biological recycling of materials and products is a way to reduce and recycle waste, says Iggesund. It believes legislation which bans sending combustible waste to landfill (since 2003) and organic waste to landfill (since 2005) has increased interest in the use of materials that are biodegradable and/or compostable.

The certification applies to Invercote G in grammages from 260 to 380g/m2, Invercote GP from 200-380g/m2, and Invercup from 210-266g/m2.
