Integrated to improve control

27 August 2002

With its new Kinetix solution for motion control, Rockwell Automation claims to offer "seamless integration", combining the key elements of control, networks, drives, motors and actuation. Improved performance and "effortless precision" are promised in converting machinery applications such as rewinding and rotary knives.

The Kinetrix 6000 compact, high performance, multi axis servo drive is an essential part of the new technology. Designed to work with Logix controllers, it has a PLC style rack and a Sercos digital interface to simplify installation. According to Rockwell, it will handle the most demanding motion control applications.

Converting Today understands that a number of major UK based converting equipment manufacturers are co-operating with Rockwell in the development and application of the Kinetrix system.
