The 4th annual Label Industry Global Awards for Lifetime Achievement, Continuous Innovation, New Innovation and European Converter of the year were presented at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on the first evening of Labelexpo Europe.
Rotoflex International was selected as the unanimous winner of the Continuous Innovation award for its innovation in the fields of label inspection, slitting and re-winding, specialized pharma-security and digital web-finishing areas.
The award for New Innovation was bagged by Advanced Vision Technology (AVT) for its automatic inspection system. Receiving the award, Koby Shtaierman, president of AVT Europe said: "When our PrintVision/Helios solution was introduced to the label market three years ago, it was greeted with a mixture of excitement and scepticism. Today, I would like to thank those many hundreds of label printers who have implemented their vision of quality with AVT vision systems.”
Beating the finalists Pago and Caposa Group, the European Converter of the Year award was won by the Schreiner Group.
Last but not the least, Dow Corning scientist, Andrew Jack, was honoured with the 2007 R. Stanton Avery Lifetime Achievement award. With more than 35 years of pressure sensitive industry experience, Andrew Jack has been at the forefront of pioneering the company’s products in solventless silicones, water-based silicones, and advanced cost-effective products.
The next Label Industry Global Awards will take place in Chicago in September 2008.
