Improvements to creasing matrix

25 March 2014

New enhancements to C&T Matrix's Channel Original product are promised to make it "even easier to apply" as well as improving its performance with enhanced bonding.

Channel Original is a steel-based matrix, used mainly on cylinder machines and hand platens. It is self-locating and claimed to be extremely durable. Fingerlift tape now replaced the flush edge tape across the entire range. This speeds the use of the matrix at makeready stage: operators are able to remove the backing paper effortlessly once the creasing matrix is located on the creasing rule.

The new enhancements also see a move from straight to staggered perforations - the plastics shoulders of the matrix are held to the metal base by micro perforations. This increases the mechanical bond strength between the shoulders and the metal base, preventing movement and ensuring accurate registration every time.

Channel Original is available in a full range of sizes to suit all board types, off-centres and multi-crease for close creasing.
