Ilapak and Teknoweb jointly exhibit complete wet wipe production and packaging solutions

Ilapak and Teknoweb will exhibit jointly at IDEA 2016 (2-6 May 2016, Boston, MA, USA) for the first time ever, introducing the non-woven industry to new integrated converting and flow wrapping solutions that have been conceived through the partnership. The centrepiece of the shared booth (no 1400) will be a high speed wet wipe line which interfaces Teknoweb's Exige 2 converting platform with the new Genesis Pack flow wrapper from Ilapak. Live demonstrations will show mini packs of cross-folded wipes being produced at speeds of 100 packs per minute, via a workflow that delivers impeccable pack presentation, low cost of ownership and unrivalled efficiency.

"This demonstration will give visitors the opportunity to not only see the fastest machine on the market for producing cross-folded wipes, but to find out how it can be supplied as part of a complete converting and packing solution, whereby one project team takes ownership and guarantees the performance of the entire line. We want to make wet wipe businesses aware that they can now source seamlessly integrated converting and packaging lines that offer greater line efficiency, simpler installation and operation and a single point of contact for technical back-up," says Teknoweb sales director Guido Conio.

This is the first joint outing for the two IMA Group companies, who announced their collaboration at the end of last year. By joining forces, they have become Europe's first turnkey provider of complete production and packaging solutions for the wet wipe industry. The partnership draws on the synergies between Ilapak's vast flow-wrapping experience and Teknoweb's in-depth converting knowledge, paving the way for technological innovation and giving customers access to the combined resources and expertise of both companies.

"IDEA 2016 will, we hope, be the first of many events where Ilapak and Teknoweb will have a joint presence. Our partnership is only at a fairly early stage, but is already taking us into territory that hasn't been explored by other non-woven technology providers. Through our joint development work, we've become the first company in Europe to offer full processing and packaging lines for wet wipe production," says Teknoweb sales director Guido Conio.
