ICE UK links with EFTA

2 November 2007

The second ICE UK show will be staged in partnership with the EFTA annual print awards on March 4-5, 2009, at the GMEX exhibition hall in Manchester. Co-organizers nimble shows & media and Angel Business Communications say the event will incorporate flexo and converting, “offering a broader selection of suppliers from all sectors of the converting and printing value chain”.

EFTA chairman Bernard Catterall says: "Since the demise of the Flexo show, the British flexographic community has lacked its own event. Attendees to the annual EFTA awards in 2009 will be able to meet a range of suppliers under the same roof as the ICE UK exhibition, which will run for two days and concurrently with the awards presentation dinner at the GMEX centre.”

He adds: “England’s North West has a strong tradition in converting and flexo printing, and Manchester is an ideal location for those not able to attend the awards ceremony to meet potential suppliers”.

ICE UK and nimble director Michael Boyle emphasizes: "By teaming up with EFTA, suppliers from the flexo printing and converting sectors can have their own dedicated UK event. The UK has traditionally been a major centre for converting and definitely needs its own converting show. A number of highly qualified print directors and buyers attend the EFTA awards. Now they will also be able to meet a number of key suppliers in one place and at one time.”
