ICE (the international converting show) is to change its focus and move to the MOC Exhibition Centre, Munich. Scheduled for November 27-29, 2002, the exhibition is to concentrate on the coating, drying and finishing elements of converting, says organizer Angel Business Communications.

Explaining the move, managing director Dennis Cooper told Converting Today: "Clearly we have learnt a lot after the last show in Amsterdam. The market thinks Germany is the best place to be. And we have reduced the costs for exhibitors.

"Reaction to the moves is very good. We are delighted and are definitely going ahead.

"We also recognise that some exhibitors in the converting field such as the flexo community still prefer their own indigenous shows. That's why we have chosen to focus on coating drying and finishing – the sectors which had good results at the last ICE."

Forward planning includes ICE 2004 in March, two months before drupa and with K following in October of the same year.

Dennis Cooper commented: "We are quite happy to do what the market wants, but sometimes you have to shake it up."
