ICE show changes hands

4 March 2008

The International Converting Exhibition (ICE) series of events has been acquired by show organizer Mack Brooks Exhibitions Group for an undisclosed amount. ICE stages every two years in Munich, Shanghai and Manchester - the show in Munich is the leading European event to focus exclusively on paper, film and foil converting.

Michael Boyle, managing director of nimble shows & media, will continue to work in an advisory role for Mack Brooks and Franz Hermann will continue as sales director of the events. They will also continue in their roles as publishers and owners of the C2 Europe and C2 Deutschland magazines.

Michael Boyle comments: “We are delighted to agree this new partnership with Mack Brooks as we know this will create the best possible means to develop the ICE events further. We will provide continuity of organization with our on-going involvement and support of the show, whilst being able to rely on the resources of a much larger show organizer.”

The next event in Munich, scheduled for November 24-26, 2009, is said to be already close to selling out. Mack Brooks will also take over the rights to ICE UK, which takes place in Manchester from 4 - 5 March 4-5, next year, and the ICE China exhibition, which made its debut this January, in Shanghai.

Mack Brooks is a privately owned, independent company that organizes international technology fairs such as EuroBLECH, in Hanover, inter airport Europe, in Munich, and the IPTEC networking event in Frankfurt.

Chairman Stephen Brooks states: “We aim to continue to develop ICE as the leading event brand in the converting sector and to provide both exhibitors and visitors with the highest levels of service and benefit.”
