SITI Tea Installs Two HP Indigo Digital Presses to Print its own Labels and Packaging

Morocco-based SITI Tea (Société Impériale des Thés et Infusions), a provider of customized tea packing services, has added labels and packaging printing to its in-house offering, with the installation of two HP Indigo Digital Presses within two years.

Having purchasing their first HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press in 2013, SITI Tea has recently added an HP Indigo WS6800 to its portfolio, enabling the company to further expand its print offering. With the purchases marking their first venture into printing, SITI Tea has swiftly embraced HP Indigo technology, keen to explore the new opportunities available. SITI tea has already become the first company to print digitally on oxo-biodegradable plastic - for which HP recently announced their support - after a customer requested a green packaging solution just a few months into SITI Tea's digital printing experience.

With over 30 years' experience in packaging tea and plants in handcrafted tea bags, SITI Tea provides customers in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa with full-service, custom tea packing services. The company had traditionally relied on offset and flexo printers and converters for its labels and packaging needs, however as customers were increasingly requesting small print quantities, they began to look for alternative solutions. As Hamza El Baroudi, Development Director, SITI Tea, explains, HP Indigo's digital printing technology became the obvious choice, allowing the company to facilitate shorter print runs whilst also maintaining the high quality and reasonable pricing that customers had come to expect.

"HP Indigo digital printing enables SITI Tea to cost-effectively deliver the high quality that our customers need, with a fast turnaround, whilst gaining business flexibility and control," said El Baroudi. "With two HP Indigo Digital Presses, we are able to combine our customers' ideas with our expertise, with almost no limitations. We are extremely excited about the capabilities that HP Indigo technology can bring to our business, and we look forward to further expanding our capacity in the future with additional digital presses from HP."

Currently, SITI Tea's WS6600 and WS6800 Digital Presses are routinely used for orders of up to 300,000 teabags, with print runs up to 30,500 m (100,000 ft) in length. Printing across two, and occasionally three shifts, the two presses now print 8-10 percent of the labels and packaging for SITI Tea's products.

Gráficas Francisco Del Moral Installs HP Indigo WS6800 to Increase Productivity and Maintain Competitive Advantage

Gráficas Francisco del Moral, a leading Andalucía- (Spain) based full service printer, has installed an HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press. Enabling the company to boost productivity for a wide variety of high quality label applications, the new HP press is driving production efficiencies and cost reductions, ensuring that the business retains it high customer service and competitive edge.

Installed in April 2015, Gráficas Francisco del Moral is now capitalising on the advanced capabilities of the HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press, including an automated early detection and quality control system and HP's unique Enhanced Productivity Mode. With the additional availability of HP Indigo's new Special Inks, such as HP ElectroInk White, the company is now also able to produce high-quality prints on a wider variety of substrates, including opaque materials. The press's new inline spectrophometer is also enabling the company to eliminate the need for manual colour calibration, enabling further savings of time and money.

"Five years ago we acquired our first HP Indigo WS4500, and we were very impressed with not only customer reaction to our new short run capability, but its high quality print also. We quickly needed an additional machine to match demand, so installed an HP Indigo WS6600. The choice of our third digital press was an easy one. The HP Indigo WS6800 would enable us to make the efficiency gains we needed to take the next step, streamlining our operation and increasing customer service," said Francisco del Moral Mata, CEO, Gráficas Francisco del Moral.

Established in 1991, Gráficas Francisco del Moral has grown rapidly from a small workshop-based company with only three members of staff, to a flourishing business employing over 65 employees in a modern purpose-built facility. The company provides a broad range of services including commercial print, labels and packaging, large format print and graphic design services. It uses a mix of analogue and digital technologies, including three HP Indigo Digital Presses.

"The print industry is undoubtedly shifting, with customers expecting shorter print runs and greater flexibility and customisation. As a company, we need to evolve our technologies and capabilities to ensure we stay ahead of the trend," continued Moral Mata. "With their advanced features, HP presses provide us - and our customers - with the confidence that we are well equipped to handle whatever demands might come our way in the future."

CPM to Install HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press for Combined Production and Quality Benefits

CPM International, one of Europe's leading suppliers of wraparound labels, envelopes, sleeves and flexible packaging, will install an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press this month. This investment forms part of the company's ongoing growth strategy to expand its production capacity for high-quality flexible packaging, and take digital label printing to the next level.

A 30-inch wide roll-to-roll printer, the HP Indigo 20000 enables CPM to meet growing requirements for shorter run lengths, improved versatility and print quality that meets brands' high-standards. The solution will also provide these many benefits while delivering increased cost-efficiencies that will help CPM remain competitive.

"Investing in the latest print technologies has always been part of our company's commitment to ensuring that we can provide the best possible service for our customers," said Javier Marina, Sales Director, CPM. "10 years ago, we installed cutting-edge gravure machines - technology we have been using for 25 years. Our customers were really enthusiastic about the many new applications that these presses enabled, but there were often conflicting views between marketing and purchasing regards the high cost of printing short- and medium-runs. However, the speed and imposition efficiency of our new HP Indigo 20000 make it a highly cost-effective solution. As the print quality also matches gravure, we are confident that our customers will take full advantage of our new capabilities."

CPM, based in Madrid, Spain, has a strong reputation for high-quality products, providing labels and packaging to some of the biggest names in the soft drinks, water, dairy and food industries.

"Our print quality and customer service standards meet the most demanding requirements of major food and beverage companies," continued Marina. "We always ensure that we provide a flexible, added-value service and we embrace technologies that can help us enhance our offering.

"The HP Indigo 20000 opens up numerous opportunities for short-run labels and packaging, as well as creative campaigns that incorporate personalisation. The entire company is excited about the installation of this new press and are looking forward to fully exploring its many capabilities."
