High volume production of UHF RFID tags

1 August 2005

UPM Rafsec is now using its new manufacturing technology for the mass production of state-of-the-art RFID tags. The proprietary and patent pending process - specifically designed for volume production of EPC compliant UHF tags – is in operation at the company's new North American manufacturing site in Fletcher, North Carolina.

The new technology is said to be an "outstandingly reliable process that has proven to guarantee unparalleled yields with both Class 1 generations (Gen1 and Gen2) of EPC tags".

Christer Härkönen, senior vp, UPM Rafsec, comments: "The new manufacturing technology is cost efficient, scalable and enables us to increase our capacity rapidly according to the demand".
