High speed treatment for metallic substrates

13 August 2008

Vetaphone has recently sold two large corona units with its newly developed DHP system for a Kroenert coating line. They are said to have provided 45 per cent higher output on the coating line in a month.

The DHP system makes it possible to run at speeds higher than 450 m/min on metallic substrates with no damage to the product, it is claimed. Additionally, the new feature is said to allow the Vetaphone Corona-Plus treater to solve problems such as pinholes in the metallised surface and burn down of the metallised layer in the border of the paper.

The unit was equipped with the Quick Change electrodes feature - electrodes mounted in a specially designed pullout/push-in cartridge that allows the operator to carry out daily maintenance without removal of the production material.
