High speed diecutting for liner 12, 18 and 23 micron

9 May 2013

ETI Converting Equipment has launched The Pellicut – a rotary diecutter that can cut pressure-sensitive (PS) material at a speed of 225m/min on a 660mm web width and uses a standard flexible magnetic die. It is said to be capable of liner 12, 18 and 23 micron thick.

A patent pending W anti-deflection system is said to avoid pressure cutting variation and reduces risks of die marks on the liner. An equalizer system corrects the thickness inconsistancy of the magnetic plates presently sold on the market.

ETI says the Pellicut will be available as an option on its Cohesio lines, but will also be sold separately with unwind and rewind to diecut PS material using a thin liner from major PS suppliers. It can be retrofitted on any printing machine from 330-660mm width, the company adds.

"We have sold the first unit to a big US converter, to diecut one of the largest labels order in North America," reveals Maxime Bayzelon, vice president of the company.
