A new high efficiency chiller believed to be the first of its kind to be installed in the packaging sector is now in operation at Amcor Flexibles Winterbourne in the UK. Developed by Cool-Therm, the Turbomiser operates on virtually frictionless magnetic bearings to deliver lower power consumption and reduced carbon emissions. Andreij Duma, operations director at Winterbourne, says: “Cool-Therm anticipated a 20 to 25% energy saving with the introduction of Turbomiser. However, the latest figures show a saving of just under 50%.”
