Henkel turns up the heat on labels

6 June 2007

Henkel has added to its range of pressure-sensitive adhesives for no-label look with a new hotmelt that holds the label in place under repeated high stressing.

The company says Technomelt PS 8707 has been designed for the growing market for transparent film labels with a no-label look that have to be clear and withstand extreme stressing, such as on squeezable containers. It can be used on difficult surfaces, such as freshly blown PE and PP bottles, and also allows for easy die cutting.

A spokesperson says: “Whereas conventional acrylate adhesives on PE or PP films show detachment at the corners after 30 to 50 squeezes even in dry conditions, Technomelt PS 8707 still holds firm even after more than twice the stressing.”
