Help for young printers

5 February 2010

In the UK, the Print Futures Awards sponsored by the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), Unite the Union and the Printers’ Charitable Corp (soon to be known as The Printing Charity) have been launched for 2010.

The programme was set up to help young people fund their training for a career in the printing and graphic arts industries. Awards of £2,500 each are available to young people aged 16-30 years who are resident in the UK. The closing date for entries is 9 April, 2010, and interviews for those shortlisted will be held in May and June. The awards will be presented in London on 20 July.

BPIF membership director Dale Wallis says: “In these tough economic times, it is crucial that we help young people to secure funding for their training in print and the graphic arts”.

Application forms are available from Terry Ulrick, the Print Futures Awards secretary, on: 01444 831 918; email: terryulrick@tucommunications.co.uk
