Hell flies flexo flag at Labelexpo

26 September 2007

Hell Gravure Systems is providing detailed information on its PremiumFlexo process at Labelexpo. The company claims this system will make it possible to achieve “a level of automation in flexo printing form manufacture similar to that which is currently causing great excitement in gravure form manufacture”.

PremiumFlexo is a process for high resolution direct engraving that is said to combine the advantages of polymer flexo CTP and ‘cutting edge’ elastomer direct engraving. Round printing forms can be produced in a single stage process cost effectively with top quality results, says Hell.

The central feature of the process is the PremiumSetter, a laser engraver for high resolution direct engraving of modern elastomer flexo printing forms. It is controlled by PremiumRip, which enables each individual screen dot to be profiled precisely in three dimensions.

Engraving is carried out on the specially adapted PremiumSleeve, which is said to offer all the advantages of round seamless printing forms and set new standards in logistics and cost effectiveness.
